116 "Pistolet" glass scent bottle in gilded metal case/Flacone "pistolet" in vetro con contenitore in metallo dorato

 So called "pistolet" scent bottle, referring to the shape of the small striped glass blown bottle; they were fitted with a rubber atomizer bulb (missing) and they sold in a fancy silvered metal case lined with red velvet which follows the shape of the atomizer; in this case there is a courtesy scene showing a couple in a 18th Century costume: the woman is sitting on a bench, the man indicates a statue of Cupid, god of Love; these bottles where manufactered by Mokins of Paris.       France, 1920 ca   6,5 cm 

Flacone detto "pistolet", in riferimento alla forma della piccola bottiglia in vetro soffiato e rigato; erano dotati di un atomizzatore in gomma (mancante) e venduti in una custodia di stoffa o di metallo che, in questo caso, è  dorato e foderato in velluto rosso e segue la forma del flacone; sul contenitore è incisa una scena galante che mostra una coppia in costume settecentesco: la donna è seduta su una panchina, l'uomo indica una statua di Cupido, dio dell'Amore; queste bottiglie furono prodotte da Mokins di Parigi. Francia, 1920 c. 6,5 cm
