951 Little mother of pearl boat with glass scent bottle / Piccola barca in madreperla con flacone in vetro

 This little boat is a souvenir of Liverpool, as is printed on the mother of pearl sail; however, the underside of the shell ‘hull’ reveals that it was made in Germany; it sits on a prettily embossed metal base. Near the bottom of the mast there is a curved metal prong onto which the thimble sits, and on the other side of this there is a circular metal loop into which the little glass scent bottle fits. The gilt metal rudder has an eagle finial and there is a metal flag flying from the top of the masthead.  The clear glass scent bottle has 8 sides and a frosted glass stopper.  Germany, 1910 ca  s. b.  4,5 cm

Questa piccola barca è un  souvenir di Liverpool, come è stampato sulla vela di madreperla; tuttavia, la parte inferiore del guscio "scafo" rivela che è stato prodotto in Germania; poggia su una graziosa base in metallo goffrato. Vicino alla parte inferiore dell'albero c'è una punta metallica curva su cui poggia il ditale, e sull'altro lato di questo c'è un anello di metallo circolare in cui si inserisce il piccolo flacone di vetro. Il timone in metallo dorato ha un terminale a forma di aquila e una bandiera di metallo sbarazzina sventola dalla cima della testa d'albero. Il flacone in vetro trasparente ha 8 lati e un tappo di vetro smerigliato.    Germania, 1910 c. s. b. 4,5 cm
