Round flattened scent bottle in galuchat (or stingray), the tanned skin of a shark, usually the dogfish (Scyliorhinus canicula). This skin is very hard and durable but, because of its high production cost, is used only for valuable objects; the name come from Jean Claude Galuchat, a French craftsman who was the first one to use this kind of material for Louis XIV; silver marked mount with globular hinged cap; small handles for missing suspension chain.                                             France, 1890 ca   7 cm; 

Flacone rotondo appiattito in Galuchat (pelle conciata di squalo, solitamente il gattuccio (Scyliorhinus canicula). Questa pelle è molto dura e resistente ma, a causa del suo alto costo di produzione, viene utilizzata solo per oggetti di valore; il nome deriva da Jean Claude Galuchat, un artigiano francese che fu il primo ad utilizzare questo tipo di materiale per Luigi XIV; montato in argento marcato con tappo a cerniera globulare; piccole maniglie per catena di sospensione mancante.       Francia, 1890 c. 7 cm;
